Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

riding in Cadillac Mi area

Been up in Cadillac many times but never brought my bike so this time I am going to. Anyone one ride around this area and can suggest the a decent route. I have used strava and seems pretty active to the west of town. I plan to be with relatives for a week so want to get in some good rides.

I'm sure you could figure out some loops around the lakes that would give you some good scenery.

My suggestion would be to take short car ride up to the Traverse City area. Lots of good riding up there and the terrain is very nice!

Some awesome rolling hills if you go far enough into the country!

Judging by google maps there's a bike trail that starts on Mitchell street and follows an old railroad line.

I haven't ridden in Cadillac, but to the East near Lake City, Mcbain, it's flat not too many roads to ride since alot of them are dirt. The best riding is either near Lake Michigan or coming up to Traverse City.
