Thanks for the reply. There is no number tab. The right side chain stay is chrome. The fork crown is not chrome,
I hope that this helps.

Obviously I will defer to CyclesMakaron on all this, but I think the lack of number holder makes it very unlikely it was a Gan team bike. The KC on the steerer I thought was the code for chrome rear drive side and dropouts, and fork crown. The 3 will be the size of the frame the fork is for I believe.

Yes you do. Click on your user name and a little menu will pop up, click 'view profile'. On your profile page you will see 'albums' on the right hand side. Click 'add album'. Upload your photos. Let us know when you've done it.
Or, you know, just make another three posts.

Eddy Merckx GAN Genius?

Well, I am finally back. Sorry for the delay. Hopefully, I can now post some photos. Here goes. Ultimately, I would like to determine the value of this bike - full Shimano 9-speed Ultegra with a triple, Mavic Open pro rims, American Classic Seatpost, Terry Butterfly saddle, etc

The few things that come to mind from seeing the pictures..... Belgian handmade flag style decal is strange to see on something this late, maybe was added later. With no number hanger and a fork steerer that long it seems super unlikely was a Gan team bike.

Thank you for posting the photos. You have a very unusual frame, but not a profi team - but probably made to order. Add photos of the markings on the steering tube to the set - even illegible

CyclesMakaron , I saw this this on a social media site this morning and I thought you may be interested. A last style MXL, seems like a repaint to later colours. What I found interesting is that the serial is clearly double stamped F and G. I knew such things happen, but never have I seen one before. Regards, Sean.

A sleepless night
A powerful hangover
Sunglasses
The first frame marked on that day
P doesn't get off to a good start
The G designation is correct
The numbers are OK
But they cause doubts
One hammer hit too many
It is impossible to disguise the tragedy
... and then some guys after 26 years wonder what the author of the unfortunate hit meant

As requested, h
ere are the photos of the steerer tube of the Merckx (Team Gan paint scheme). I can read "KC" and "Genius 53". The rest of the numbers are not readable.
What is your best guess as to the value of this bike. Yes, I have the original Shimano Ultegra 9-speed rear deraieur.
Thanks

I cannot determine the value of this wonder, I have nothing to compare this frame with.
This is not a Corsa Extra, it is a separate, unnamed EMC model - definitely rarer, 100% original and more valuable to a collector.
If I were to sell it, I would take off all the hardware and put up the frame with the fork (and a very careful description) for really serious money - and calmly waited for offers.
There would be not many of them, but they would also be serious

Trying to figure out the year and size for a Corsa-01 I inherited, but from measuring and what I’ve read thinking it’s a 55cm and 1996
drive side: P
non drive: G 8466

Jacek, I found this in an old posting on the book of faces, have you seen it before? I am assuming it's one of the prototypes from the clearance sale. The only information I have is from the old post, as follows>>> Frame weight 1630 grams, 28.8 seatpost, Ritchey dropouts, bb stampings are 162 E G7864.. Thanks and regards, Sean

I also saw it on f.o.b. - if someone wants a unique EMC frame, he will not find a better one
Apart from dating (turn 97/98) I can not write anything about this frame - the problem is waiting in a (long) queue to be solved.

Looking to buy this bike and I'm interested in what it is exactly.
Seems pretty straight forward for the most part: "R" - Reynolds tubes, "E" - built between 1981 and 1984, "5" - size 55 (please correct me if I'm wrong).
But the last stamp is throwing me off, is that an upside down "P" for Panasonic or something else completely?
Interested in what the experts think . Many thanks in advance!
*Can't post pictures yet so hopefully this is okay:

Okay so nothing special. Thanks for the response!
Indeed, after some more thought, I figured it might be that simple.
The fact that it was stamped on the wrong side piqued my enthusiasm, but it was probably just a moment of inattention on the part of the employee.
