Just as a comparison, last Thursday I ordered two GP 5000 700x23 tires with two Vittoria Latex tubes from Merlin in the UK. They'll be here today and the total cost was right under $10 more than the total cost for just the tires from BTD..

That's pretty narrow. What do they measure on your rim?

My GP5000 25c tires measure 23.5mm on the Sun m13ii. Might try the 28c next time to get closer to 25mm.

Times are changing here on the C&V when even we now consider a 700 x23 narrow.

These are most likely going on the 84 Raleigh Racing Usa Prestige. Rear clearance is real tight on it with the stock brakes which have the springs hanging below the caliper body. I put GP 5000 700 x 25 on the original Araya Red Labels rims and it was really close. Right now I have some Kyserium's with GP 3000s 700 x 23's on it and they are really close too.

Thanks, @merziac. I just ordered a pair of 32's (black sidewall - it's all they have) and a pair of 25s (natural sidewall). I should be good to go for a while.

I got the same message from BTD and ordered ONE 28mm tire a couple of hours ago. I flatted last Wednesday, huge chunk of glass causing a significant casing cut; put a boot on it and decided not to ride that bike far until someone had a sale on GP5000's. So, a good day for me to see this and I had not realized I had "bonus points" so $26 out the door including shipping.

Is this a significant discount from typical prices? Looks like the same tires (at least in a 25 width) are about the same price at Amazon ($49.95) and are even cheaper at BikeINN ($32.99) EDIT: the BikeINN tires are a cheaper version, NOT a GP5000.

I put a pair of these tires on my commuter bike in August in 32mm size. Fantastic tires. I know they may not last long, but I'm happy so far. It's as if I have a new, better bike.

OK. I'm going to have to revive this zombie thread to gripe. Following this post, I had ordered a pair from Bikeinn, thinking it was a great price for GP5000. I got the tires and put them away in my 'stash. Today I took one out to use and noticed that it's not a Continental Grand Prix 5000. It is a Continental Grand Prix- the down-market, cut-rate version of the Grand Prix 5000. Which I didn't even know existed before I held one in my clammy hand.
Yes I know, it was my fault for not reading carefully before I clicked buy. But come on folks- pay some attention when you put up links to hot deals like this!

An pseudo bait and switch, by a global corporation, legal and protected.

Corporations are amoral at best.

Can we do this when we pay them? Like, say we'll pay but in the fine print we actually pay in rupees instead of dollars?

When its too good to be true....

FWIW, I have only ordered from Bikeinn a couple times, a Miche Campy cassette that was in stock took over 6 mos to get to me, one of a few times I ordered something I needed right then.

Plenty here have done just fine with them.

Never again.

Bikeinn didn't misrepresent their item. They did list it as Grand Prix. I just didn't pay enough attention beyond seeing the price tag and clicking 'BUY'.

Last month (?) I sent Bike Tires Direct a link to BikeInn's pricing and asked if they could match it; they said they could not but could get closer (IIRC, $57 each and I needed six tires). I took that deal, I think it was good of them to work with me.

My apologies! I had no idea either that there was a cheaper version of this tire.
