Richard Dean Anderson, of McGyver and Stargate fame, rode from Minnesota to Alaska when he was 17. Not sure if he still rides today.

He won the Cat 3 race in Long Beach circuit (just before the last stage of Tour of Cali).

When he did it, my friend looked over to me and said "Did Zach just won the ****ing race?"

I've seen pics of Madonna and Liv Tyler riding hybrids and cruisers. Steve Colbert most likely rides, as many of his shows have cycling metaphors that make many non-cyclists scratch their heads. If you consider politicians a celebrity, then President Bush and John Kerry both ride, as does Governor Mark Sanford of South Carolina (he joins club ride when home from Columbia).

Then you have the cyclists that have become celebrities, but only one is prominent.

I love the new spell check on Firefox.

I don't know, but I *DO* know it's very important to keep up with celebrities. They are our gods. The TV said so.

yeah i actually have and read "ghost rider", which is about after his wife and daughter died within 10 months of eachother, he went on a monster motorcycle tour from quebec up to alaska and down to belieze. that book is good. but i prefer his other one called "landscape, a concert tour by motorcycle" when Rush is on their tour him and a buddy ride their motorcycles from venue to venue. hes a great author, very descriptive. and he goes through a hell of alot of places. funny enough, i dont have masked rider cause barnes and noble doesnt carry it, so i have to order it. when im done with "landscape" im going to get it. he also has another book called "traveling music" which is about the music that he has been into throughout his life.

edit:typos

Well, now I need to become a celebrity so that I can be listed on this thread!

(I wonder if there are any celebs lurking on this forum....other than the famous Sheldon Brown, that is! )

Dempsey was interviewed on Versus during the Tour of California. They said that he has a $3,000 bike. I'm sure that he can afford it.
