Are cyclists terrorists? How?
A politician called me this week and said he gets calls that bike riders are terrorists and no space should be allocated on roads for us. I immediately wrote an opinion piece about it.

You seem to be confused about infra being safe. It isn't. instead of lobbying for spending more funds, how about getting the police to enforce the law? Any separated "bike lane" still has the problem of cross traffic, pull outs, parking lots and driveways.

Terrorism is defined as the use of violence or intimidation in the pursuit of ideology (political, social, religious). If anything, motorists who intimidate or attack cyclists because they are ideologically opposed to cyclists having rights to public roads are domestic terrorists by definition.

I can be a "terror" on a bicycle inside the city grid. But I don't believe I have actually intimidated anyone. The word "terrorist" gets thrown around like candy on Halloween these days. I believe it has lost it's Webster's meaning to the general public.

Why not fund infrastructure that encourages lawful operation? It's a lot cheaper, safer, & increases freedom by offering choice. It also saves the car space for those that need to drive, or want to drive.

My city experiences many pedestrian deaths, as a result the city is starting to put lights at all crosswalks, including on very busy streets. These lights are activated by a pedestrian and the lights actually stop traffic with a red light, it doesn't look like a normal red light, but you must stop at them.
There is one near a coffee shop and I was thinking about sitting outside at this coffee shop one morning and every so often walk over and push the button to stop all the traffic (very busy road), while I sat at an outside table drinking my coffee.
Does that qualify me as a Terrorist

No, just as someone who likes having drivers throw things at him while he drinks coffee. You know you will end up on TikTok if you do that enough, right?
And yes, I know you're not serious, just playing along.

Because when police enforce the law, tax paying voters vote "no" to funding government..."Always too wasteful when they should be looking for criminals, not me."

There is actual economics, cost, data, etc...on all of this. If you are curious, start a new thread on the matter. The fastest way to get the correct answer on the internet is to post something wrong. Go for it.

I extend a thank you (NOT!) to former President G Bush II, and all the subsequent 'tard Presidents who have weaponized countless behaviors as "terrorism", and weaponized numerous government agencies at the local, state, and federal levels (Thank you Homeland Security! [NOT!]) to arrest, harass, or intimidate US citizens.
