WTB: Stronglight or Spidel 107 or 106 double crankset.....

Looking for a Stronglight or Spidel 107 or 106 double ringed crankset for an 80's French build. Need it to be in VGC to match bike's condition and with 9/16 pedal threading, 170 or 172.5 arm legnth.

stronglight cranksets

I have two 106 cranksets and only the drive side 107. I don't remember why I only have the drive side. I don't think they are in the kind of condition you want though I would use them. I would likely remove the anodizing from the 106 cranksets and hand polish. One of the 106 cranksets is marked for 9/16 pedal threads. The other isn't marked. I have 9/16 pedal taps and it is easy to re-tap to 9/16. Both 106 cranksets are 52/42. Here are a few pics.

9/16 pedal threads

Spidel

107 only drive side.

Hi Andy,
Thank you very much for your reply and pics!
The 106 with the 9/16 threads looks like it might be serviceable enough to look much better with some thorough polishing work, so that's the top candidate so far. It would have been nice though if you had the non-drive side arm of the 107, as that looks quite minty in the pics and I might just have you rethread the pedal hole on it. No chance at all of finding the non-drive side arm in your stash for it?
otherwise, let me think about it a bit and I'll get back with you.

I have an English threaded NOS 107 that I don't need, has some shop wear. Extractor thread is standard 22 mm but the dust caps are a very loose fit and require teflon tape or something.

you're going to post pictures of the build, right? Always interested in seeing 80's French bikes.

Yes, definitely.....
It's actually going to be a partial build, as I am acquiring most of the bike already put together by one of our fellow forum members.
