Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Craft cycling gear

Do any of you have much experience with Craft gear? How do their products compare to others? Other than Trek Leopard wearing them, I havent heard or seen much of Craft.

They're a swedish brand and they're pretty awesome. Materials and construction are top notch - on par with Giordana/Castelli/Capo I have a few jerseys and their base layers. Their fit is a euro fit so if you're the typical fat guy, you might want to buy a size or two up.

I purchase a Craft light jacket - very good stuff as mentioned above. Agree that if you like a little extra room, go one size up.

I have a craft ultra light weight rain jacket, and a couple of their Winter base layers. Love their stuff so far.

I have multiple pieces for running and cycling - both styles are cut small for my pudgy USA body. At the risk of sounding like a broken record -go up a size unless you're anorexic. Otherwise they are great.

Like most manufacturers of quality cycling gear, Craft's size charts are accurate if you're reasonably fit. They are NOT, however, vanity sized so your the size of your sleeveless, club cut, Pearl Izumi jersey from Nashbar won't translate.

Their base layers are excellent.

+1 to that... One of my favorite companies in general and I pretty much only use their base layer for biking, running, snowboarding.

I don't know about that. I think Craft tops and bottoms are sized a half to a full size larger than Assos or any of the Italian brands. I wear a medium Craft, but large in those others.

I just bought a Craft jersey for $50 which I thought was a great deal for what you get. Wasn't familiar with the brand until then/now.

I'll take your word for it. I've just been wearing their base layers which fit like Castelli, Giordana, and Etxe Ondo jerseys. The really big stuff in euro gear is Campagnolo.

I've only worn craft base layers, haven't tried their bibs or jerseys. The base layer works well and its pretty inexpensive compared to the other brands out their. Quality stuff.

Craft has been around and is one of the quality standards in cycling apparel. Sidenote, didn't Tyler Hamilton used to pitch their gear?

I'm surprised to hear they are a top brand. PBK always seem to be selling them cheap, and I have a couple of jersies. They are okay, nothing special and I would say the sizing is normal cycling sizes or even a little small.

european cut i believe, so they are certainly cut a bit smaller. I've actually gone from wearing a med/lg to a lg/xlg in the european cut. Just buy the next larger size.

The front of their bibs are cut to low for my taste. They seemed ok other than that. Jerseys are good.

I use the tights version of these in the winter. Very, very comfortable and great breathability. I also swear by their minimalist boxers with windstop fronts for 20 degree and under rides and also for the ability to wear my team kit on race day in cyclocross season.
