Selle Anatomica: Has anybody on here tried one? I'm having one put on my Trek Domane. Hoping that I don't regret it. LOL

I haven't but considered taking my existing selle and just having this leather craftsman I met put on leather instead. Seems like that's the only difference and he said he could cover my seat for $40.

Saddles are personal, so the only way you will know is if you try it.

I have several, and have put a good number of miles on them. I like these saddles and plan to keep on using them, as do many of the folks I ride with. The saddle is like a leather hammock for your backside. However at least one rider I know did not like how Selle An-Atomica felt, and switched to a different saddle.

I'm assuming the saddle you're getting is new (and of recent manufacture), but a few years ago Selle An-Atomica changed the rails to a more resilient steel, which is better for clydes. I had one of the older models with the soft steel and broke the rails; I sent it back to have the stronger rails put on.

The rails on this saddle are much longer than many other saddles, and consequently offer greater range of adjustment. The tension is also adjustable, and between these two parameters it can take a bit of time to get the saddle adjusted so that it best fits your needs.

I've owned several of their saddles. Comfortable right out of the box. If you get the appropriate model, and resist the urge to constantly adjust the tension, you'll get many years of comfortable riding out of them.

Try to find a seller that will let your return it if you don't like like it. I purchased from their website, and they took it back - great folks. For me, most uncomfortable saddle I've owned; so I guess that means I'm not a hammock guy.

You must be confusing some things, because Anatomica are sling type saddles, like Brooks, where the leather is not attached to a base, but suspended between a frame that mounts at the front and rear. It's quite different from most saddles in that regard.

ahhh ok. Nevermind then. I looked at some "leather" saddles at a shop not too long ago, but it was just a standard saddle with leather on top of a base. I'll have to give one a try as I'm on my 4th saddle and still have discomfort from time to time that goes away if I ride out of the saddle for a few minutes.

Yes, I have one on my Bianchi Intenso and I like it. Mine is the Titanico X model. It feels a lot better than you would expect from looking at it. I had already bought the saddle when I bought the bike but my Bianchi dealer also happened to be a dealer for the Selle Anatomica, so when he did my new bike fit, he also adjusted the saddle properly. I like it and would definitely buy another.

I've got two rides in thus far: around 21 miles and then a 45 miler with 3000 ft of climbing. It's a keeper, I am really enjoying this saddle.
