Ride DC Sep 9th
Anyone doing this downtown DC ride around the monuments with traffic blocked off? Youngest daughter just moved to DC in July so this looks like a fun way to do our 1st visit. If anyone has done it before any tips or suggestions? Thanks

There has been a lot of different versions of the DC ride over the years, never done the car free version. The usual downside of DC group rides is they use paths that are heavily used by tourists and are crowded on the weekends even when there are no group rides going on. The road closure approach should be awesome. They recently redid the loop you will start out doing on Haines Point, great pavement now at the start/finish but still very rough just north of that.

Help please ! We're staying at the Yotel at 415 New Jersey Ave NW and need to get to West Potomac Park by 7:30. Can anyone familiar with DC suggest the best cycling route where we can ride to the starting area at West Potomac Park? Are there bike lanes on every street or one good lane we need to look for to get us there?
Thanks for any help
