I just got back from a bike shop which had the same model - Cannondale Synapse 2019, alloy w/Disc brakes, and Shimano 105 groupset . It was €999. Seems like a pretty reasonable price. Mind if I ask how much you paid for yours? Also, I wasn't convinced the saddle was great, but it might have just been a basic stock saddle. How have you found the saddle?

$999 is several hundred less than I paid and about $500 less than MSRP, so I'd say that's pretty great. I didn't like the saddle at all so I immediately replaced it with a Brooks B17 that I'd already broken in. One of the things that really drew me to it were the rack mounts. It felt like a good compromise between a bike for doing 25-40 mile rides, occasional centuries, and low key bike touring. I rode it up and down some hills yesterday and really loved it.

Oh, right, I read that too quickly. I think it's still a really good value.

Purchased from a shop locally but didn't do my homework on what I really needed in terms of fit, the individual at the shop also claimed it fit me fine... I purchased a bike that while it was an "endurance" bike, it had a very low stack height and and was a size too small for me and the front end was way too low given my poor flexibility. It was a really nice bike and a great price because it was last years stock, but it didn't suit me at all. I lost a bunch of money on the resale of it but ended up buying a different bike that fits me great, just wish I didn't have to try twice to get a bike that suited me...
Moral of the story, do your homework and shop around, the shop might not always have your best interests at heart.

Look around, many options
I've been riding avg 230-150m per month (recreational with a group, road) on a Cannondale S. Six evo. Great option for me. Def fast if I want, H discs are sweet but temperamental and comfortable. My previous was an aluminum Casd 10/ carbon forks. But..
Recently picked up a 2013 Scott CR1 which looks super racy but engineered for longer road hauls. I snagged up this basically hardly used machine for only $620. Complete w Ksyrium wheels. I added 28's which to my 200lb frame nicely and I simply love the ease of movement from this bike. My favorite is the SRAM components, never used before and s huge fan. Love the rim brakes since they are simply very cool looking and give the bike that bad ass presence. So basically, this bike was a huge bargain for me. Fit my style of riding and I had to do minimal customizing to appease my fit and style. For me this works. Got you, perhaps yes. Maybe not. What you have to find out is in my opinion, find what looks amazing ti you, be sure it's functional, effective and comfortable. Then simply ride s few. See what works. You may find something that is candy to your vision but is not an option due to comfort or size. Take your time, research them and it will come to you. You will know when it's right! Because it'll inspire you to want to simply get out and ride your butt off!

And further, anyone who adds to such a thread should have his or her fingers and feet cut off. One cannot overstress how important this matter is. The future of humanity is at stake.
