Raleigh Gran Course frameset (24.5"/61cm)
Greetings!
The "Gran Course" was offered in 1984 as a frameset-only version of the top-of-the-line "Professional" model with fast-back seatstays, Prugnat lugs, Gipiemme drop-outs and a full tubeset of legendary Reynolds 531 steel (531c in particular, which is a lighter-drawn version intended for racing and sportive applications) - plus a rather sick '80s ivory to shark gray fade paint job! As you can see, the frameset is well-used and "patinated", shall we say. I personally love it like this - it gives the finished build a bit of a rat-rod look (cf. the included pic of it all built up).
The relatively steep angles make this frameset almost handle like a track bike. I liked it so much that I'm actually using its geometry as the basis for a custom frameset (hence why I'm selling). It was my intention to strip the frameset and repaint it, along with adding an extra set of water bottle cage bosses - which it definitely deserves!
Raleigh size: 24.5"
TT: 57.5 cm (c-c)
ST: 61 cm (c-c)
Seatpost diameter: 27.2 mm
BB: 68 mm (English)
Rear spacing: respaced to allow for both 126 mm + 130 mm hubs
Max tire clearance front and rear: 30c easily, might get away with 32c (!!)
$179 + shipping
Let me know if you have any questions, and thanks for looking!

That’s an interesting frameset. I’ve never heard anything about Gran Course before. I hope someone on BF picks it up so we see more of it.

Hey plonz yeah, these aren't too common, but a few other BF members have posted about these framesets in the past. These were sold in the States branded as 'Triumph' due to the Raleigh USA arrangement at the time. The frameset is similar to the Professional of the time, both were built in Worksop at the Lightweight Unit factory and were the top shelf "off-the-peg" framesets. The only thing nicer would have been a custom 753 frameset from the SBDU workshop!

So, your current eBay price of $225 with free shipping is almost bound to be a better deal than $199 + shipping, yet here you save yourself taxes and sale fees. Kinda' strange.

Thanks Kilroy1988 for drawing my attention to the fact that the shipping was set to 'free' on eBay, that was not intentional. Seems that eBay has a new listing feature where shipping is set to that by default. Really, really hate what has happened with eBay in the last few years.
Also: I'm only human and am imperfectly adjusting prices across all the stupid internet platforms that exist to sell things on. No one wants to pay a reasonable price for stuff, so I'm doing what I can to try and capture potential buyers' attention.
Not everything is automatically a con, so please don't read too much into the price difference. It has been adjusted. The BF price is the best asking price, and even at that, it is OBO anyway?? But thanks again for bringing that to my attention...

This frame is beautiful and just the sort of thing I'd be seriously considering if I weren't adamant about reducing my small collection at the moment! Good luck with the sale.

I'm often advertising on multiple platforms as well and can relate. It's difficult to remember to drop prices everywhere at the same time, or keep things aligned if you're getting a better kickback on one platform or another.

I appreciate your thoughts here, Gregory. Will likely be reducing the asking price here shortly. While I would like to convert this into money, the space constraints are almost more pressing.
If you're reading this and interested, make me an offer!

If it were 62x58.5, I'd have already jumped on it. That's a great price.
