1978 Richard Sachs Frameset made in 1978, so fairly early in Sachs’ career.
When I purchased it years ago from the third owner in Southern California, it had already been repainted at least once and the rear spacing was set at 130mm. I sent it to Jack Trumbull at Franklin Frames, who checked the alignment and sprayed it in traditional Sachs red and white. Richie supplied the period correct decal set. It’s been ridden about 2000 miles since the restoration and as the photos show it is in exceptional condition.
It's marked a size 58, so seat tube is 57cm center-to-center (CTC) and top tube is 56cm CTC. I am 5’10” and it fits me well but would also work for someone an inch or so in either direction. Takes a 27.2mm seat post; bottom bracket is English threaded, comes with Campagnolo seat post binder bolt and installed Dura Ace 7410 headset. This frameset will accept almost any cable actuated vintage or modern component group; if in doubt ask me if yours will work.
No dents, just a few small paint chips one would expect from respectful use. Note the 'House of Cards' fork tangs.
Price is $1799 plus shipping. I ship only within the continental USA.

Incredible piece of workmanship. Colors pop. Might be a color scheme for a personal repaint at some point.

Happy wife may or may not equate to a happy life (it usually does, but not always), but an unhappy wife virtually always makes for a less than pleasant life. (These formulae work with husbands, too, in my observation.)
Making this harder is that Doc is truly a class act with wonderful bikes of which he takes very good care. You can count on it being 100% rideable straight out of the box, save only for normal shake-down cruise dialing-in, and maybe not even that.
Making this a lot easier, at least for me, is that this bike is about 7 centimeters too short for me. Good luck resisting the temptation, all you normal-sized people.

Thanks for the kind words, Rich. This really is a terrific frameset. The cartridge style DA headset just makes it all that much better.
For anyone on the fence because they're not sure what components to mount up, I have a DA 7100/First Gen group with wheels as well as a DA 7410 set with hubs.
For those of the Campy persuasion, I can remove the headset for a modest price discount (NR/SR headsets fit just fine) and one presumes that NR/SR components in this group abound.

Not a race bike.
Not a gravel bike (although I’d ride this at Eroica).
Not a touring bike- no rack or fender mounts.

I ran it with 30mm Vittoria’s. There was space enough for me to guess that 32’s would also fit.

Part of the beauty of these late 70s and 80s frames built as standard reach sidepulls gravitated to short reach. So versatile, unlike many of their 25mm successors.
