Custom Colin Laing
Age and arthritis has me on a recumbent or freekly adjusted titaniums which I can not bear to do to my Italians and customs which are sadly gathering dust. How would you value for sale my 1984 Colin Laing 58x58 custom which was built when he was in Tucson and resprayed for me by our local framebuilder Andy Gilmour who got some of Colins decals when Colin left town. All DA 7400 group and headset w/ Ultegra & CPX22 rims. Reynolds 753 tubeset which as I recall in '84 he was one of a couple dozen builders who were certified by Reynolds before becoming eligible to buy 753. Only thing it needs is new tires, hardly a mark in the paint.

Gorgeous bike, sorry to see you haven't gotten any responses. I have no idea about value, other than out of my league. Maybe a bump back up to the top will help.

That’s lovely. You’ll never get someone to buy it for what it’s really worth, but would think mid teens on eBay.

1984. The year before I moved to Tucson. Great-looking bike - nearly everyone I know who owns a Laing (or a Gilmour) seems happy with it. Nowhere near my size, though.

Everything looks super clean, including the DuraAce levers - a pricey bit if you have to replace. I'd guess $1,200 as a good asking price. If you find someone who has a particular appreciation or connection to Colin's bikes, then maybe a bit more. If you want to sell it fast, $800. It's a beautiful bike and I'll argue all day that it *should be worth more.
