Hit and didnt get an apology? really?
My friend and I were cruising through town to get out onto the country roads, my friend gets hit by a car pulling out onto the road. He went onto the hood and landed on his left side. I turned around seeing him laying on the street in front of the car. Very relieved when I saw someone pull him onto his feet. The lady gets out and doesnt say much, we walk into a parking lot, cop comes, issues a citation to her, ambulance checks him out.
The whole time she never says sorry. He thought he was ok, just shaken up, but is now getting checked out at the hospital because his neck is sore and has a slight headache. Hopefully everything turns out ok. I understand accidents happen, but ****, say your sorry. His front rim is bent and his right 105 shifter is pretty messed up.

Insurance!! if she got a citation, get her insurance to pay!! get a new shifter, bike, house, career, jet, life, etc...............

Eh. The driver says sorry and gets "WELL, SORRY ISN'T GOING TO FIX MY BIKE!". The driver doesn't say sorry and the rider's friend is pissed. Accidents are a no win situation.

Sadly enough she's doing what her insurance card tells her to do. Never admit fault, that means not saying you're sorry.

So true. If she got a ticket, then you own the situation. Her insurance company will do anything to get you to sign a release. I had this situation 30 years ago on a motorcycle.... I got a new bike, and was taken care of..... Her insurance company all but bribed me to sign the release.....

i wasnt really worried about the bike, dude. she hit a human, not just the bike. he could care less about the bike. her insurance will fix the bike. apologies go a long way. she just took him out of the saddle for quite some time. all this aside, be careful out there. be a defensive rider. i find it works well.

Sorry, I was just pointing out that there is never a right thing to say in these situations. Yes, an apology would have been nice, but she might have been scared to confront him at all.

Unfortunately his deductible, assuming he has insurance, doesn't even cover that incident so he'll be out of pocket and her saying sorry would probably make things worse for her. Agreed, it's a no win situation.

if its not your fault then your deductible should not come into play. Her insurance should take care of everything. If not get a lawyer.

It's been said, but most insurance companies specifically tell you not to say "sorry" or anything that could be construed as admitting fault. I wouldn't hold it against her as she did the decent thing by sticking around while the cops and ambulance came, and gave you her insurance info.

unfortunately you just can't make someone be humane towards other humans......... selfish, self centered, egotistical. well, you get the idea. glad everyone will survive with no permanent damage, except the bike.

No he won't get an apology for too many reasons. Only thing you can do even if you hit someone is: pull over, check injured, call 911 if necessary, administer CPR, share insurance info, get your story straight in your head before asked to narrate etc...

he got released from the hospital last night, ended up with a small fracture in a neck vertebra and a swollen spleen. but is doing fine.

Glad to hear he will be o.k. I just went threw a similar situation. A guy hit me. Luckily, a cop was sitting across the street writing a ticket. The first words out of the guy's mouth were "Am I going to get points for this?" That's when I lost my cool.

Glad he's ok,and I hate to say this, but I would lawyer up. Sounds like your friend got hammered really good by this lady and he won't be biking for a while.
