This belongs to a forum member, doesn't it? I remember lusting after the Cherubim frame. Alas and alack, it's about 2cm shy on both the seat tube and top tube dimensions. I've got a complete Suntour Superbe Pro groupset for it too!

Thanks fellas. I'm doing a combination of raising some dough and moving out some nice frames that are just a little too small for me. I'm making way for a nice Italian frameset that needs a home ...

I have a 2-3 people supposed to be coming around tomorrow but, if they don't show or buy, I'd definitely work with any Forum members on the best price, and split the shipping.

$75 Motobeccane in Kitchner/Waterloo, ON. A few hours away from me and I lack a car, otherwise I would be all over that. I am sure it was already snapped up at that price, though.

The Nomad was bottom of the line. I'd personally pass. The lack of pictures doesn't help sell it, and it's nearing the end of bike selling season, so it might still be around.

Road Bike 10 speed (Zeus) $150obo - $150 (sunnyvale)

Date: 2010-11-13, 4:42PM PST
Reply to: sale-k925z-2058985064@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?]

This is a vintage Zeus 10 speed 55cm road bike. Zeus was one of the top brands out of Spain known for having strong light weight frames (531 Reynolds) from the 1920's - 1980's. This bike does need new tires and some cleaning, but not much and you will have a great commuter that is unique and rare.

Components:

Shimano 600 rear derailleur
Shimano PD-7401 peddles
Shimano 600 brake levers
Campagnolo brakes
Suntour downtube shifter

road bike, 10 speed, vintage, zeus, shimano, trek, giant, bianchi, cannondale, specialized

I know it's off topic, but it's funny how rarely it seems to occur to so many people that one could actually clean & tune up a bike and ride it....for long road rides, group rides, events, etc....not just relegate it to being a commuter bike.

These bikes just need to be cleaned and need new tires. Impressive to see! Call 434-964-7552 or stop by 141 E Broad St in Waynesboro across from Dupont Community Bank 11-6. Asking 15O/each.

Anybody looking for an '83 Trek 720? Seller knows his stuff and is a straight shooter.

Vintage 1983 TREK 720 Touring Machine - $695 (Riverwest)
Date: 2010-11-14, 8:32AM CST
Reply to: sale-jf5ng-2059481228@craigslist.org [Errors when replying to ads?]

Waterloo hand-built, silver brazed, lugged Reynolds 531 double-butted frameset. Serial # 064622. Arguably TREK’s finest dedicated tourer. Seat tube c-c = 56cm, top tube c-c = 55, 32 ¼” standover (suitable for 5'10"- 6’+ rider) 47 cm chainstays. Original wheelset, Sugino AT triple, Cinelli bar/stem, Dia Compe canti brakes, stronglight headset, new tires sans pedals. Straight, no crashes or dents, toptube corrosion around cable guides (metal is fine, paint's bubbled), clean inside. Cosmetics commensurate for age. F/R rack braze-ons with eight dropout eyelets, hi-low cage bosses. Absolutely STUNNING bartape. Excellent candidate for frameset restoration/respray. For specs and additional information check out vintage-trek.com @ https://www.vintage-trek.com/TrekBrochure1983Part2.htm Thanks for looking. Click on link for additional images...

From Skip Echert @ vintage-trek: “The 720/728 touring bikes, dating from 82-85 were (and still are) highly-rated bikes for serious touring. The long chainstays, 47cm, provide heel clearance for the rear panniers, and contribute to a comfortable ride. These frames and bikes are still highly sought after by knowledgeable tourists. A similar steel lugged frame is not currently available except from a custom framemaker. In my opinion, these framesets and bikes will only increase in value over time. The steel racing Treks will never again be used by top racers for racing. However, the 720 will be used (and coveted) by top tourists well into the future.”
