So many 30+ mph dogs

I don't think out running a dog that was serious is a real option.
Most of the time I can ignore the dog and just keep riding as they fake bark/chase. One time a pit bull got loose and was chasing my gf on her bike. For that dog I had to get between the two of them and dismount from my bike and use it as a shield.

My old black lab mix could sprint up to 26. The days I didn’t run, I would take her out next to my bike and was amazed at her top speed. Sweet dog.

26 MPH , that is flying !
The link to the fast dogs really surprised me . had no idea dogs could run up to and over 40MPH!
I run my dogs on the bicycle too, and I expect my greyhound mix (gone now) was sandbagging the rides .Usually not over 25-26 MPH on runs.
Seans link is a great share.
