Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Same. Home-brewed-never tastes as good as store brewed . . . it must have to do with the volume of the batch they're brewing.

Yep. In the airport or some random town, absolutely.

In Boulder I do know where to get a decent cup, of course.

And early on my ride (no Mitts!) another rider on the Veloway called out "aren't you cold?" No, it's 58* and sunny and warming.

58° is pretty much ideal exercise weather.

Yeah. Guy had leg and arm warmers. And the Veloway is relatively protected from wind and is inside the urban heat pool, which is why I was using it to get going before it fully warmed. It's weird.

The guy was on an S1 twin of mine, so he has good taste at least.

That's about where I was at the outset of my ride. The not-so-ideal bit was the wind, which was swirly and problematic when heading east or west, but straight-up GFY obstinate when heading south.

Amante's is good, as is Boxcar and Sweet Bloom. I'm happy to have Sweet Bloom close, and it's a smooth cup.

58 WHERE is the problem. Two Sundays ago I headed out when it was 58 at home (50 feet of elevation) with a long sleeve jersey and a gilet vest, which was REALLY NOT ENOUGH when I hit the top of the climb at 2300 feet, where it was 50 and damp and no sun.

That’s ok. We take insults as compliments. 😀 You’re talking about a place where someone ate horse poop celebrating the Super Bowl win. I’ll spare you the video, but you can watch it on YouTube if you’re interested. Plus, we’re stuck with Wentz. We are tough.

Long ride with a fat guy who is significantly stronger (and 7 yrs younger, if that matters) than I am. He doesn’t seem to mind waiting around for me. Oh, and his house is situated such that I rode 16 more miles than he. Much honking of horns on the last leg. I got home with a few drops in the tank, but seriously, seriously done. Now I have to go food shopping.
