If people are looking for Eroica climb friendly gear, this is a chance to get a deal on their compact or subcompact crank. I was going to pick up Italian thread BB for my Sugino compact crank and did a quick search and stumbled across an Ebay seller blowing out NOS Shimano UN72 Italian thread for $8, so got those instead. Thanks for making me look!

I just bought the 50.4 crankset with the discount. Now I need a bike to put it on. The doorknob problem makes N+1 more compelling.

Yeah, I'm tempted, too. I have a nice Stronglight 49d with VO rings and bolts, but I could sell what I have and replace it with an identical (and new) crank that takes a standard puller. Thinking, thinking...
