Trek 660, $75, Burlingame CA

Needs some TLC and looks like it has only one chain wheel.

I think you should get some precise measurements from the seller because that bike looks smaller than a 54 to my eyes

Also, the paint looks to be in less than "great shape" as the seller states

Also, I'd say $700 would be a fair price if this were a Master but, it ain't, so I think you could do better than this bike

Lastly, I usually give people the benefit of the doubt but this seller has stated that this is a Colnago Master in great shape and that it's a 54cm sized frame.....and it's none of those things so there may be other undisclosed issues here

Personally, I'd keep looking, the used bike market is the softest I've ever seen it in 25 years of buying and selling....

Thanks Vitma and @jet sanchEz for your comments and insights. I spent a little more time researching and decided to pass on it. The big patch of bare metal on the top tube near the stem and mismatch of parts are the deciding factors for me. I felt the size was also off but that was fine with me since l fit a smaller size better. In fact, this was the reason it thought about getting it because finding a small frame is more difficult.

Thanks again

There's a Team Raleigh SBDU in Reynolds 753 available on FB Marketplace in San Antonio, TX. And of course, at 57cm it's not my size. Full Campy and even has a number peg.

This one is for the bike enthusiast who knows their history! Men's Vintage Takara Tribute Bicycle. 25" rim, needs new tires. Frame, bars, chain, pedals, seat, storage rack all in great condition. They don't make bicycles like this anymore! Takara has quite an interesting history!

So why is the Tribute decals cockeyed? They look like they were put on by an amatuer, were they put on some years after the bike was sold?

He and his son actually road this bike from one end of California to the other way back in the early 80's,some 40 years ago!!Its been hanging in the garage all these years, and could be a great racer again, with the right new owner!!Please look at all the pictures, May be a real classic for the right person. , Even has Brook seats! If your a serious buyer, Please give a call, no text please. I'm willing to talk a Cash deal WHEN YOU CALL ME, thanks"

Thanks for the input. I looked into the fork issue and I think this may have the recalled fork since there is no "B" on the fork crown. Do you think a dealer would replace it at this late date?

In any case, it still seems like a good deal. Looks pretty minty and has new-ish Panaracers.

Someone else just recently went down that path and ended up getting a new fork and a new discounted Bianchi. Doubt they will replace.

Look in a local coop and you will likely find a suitable fork to replace. For the record, never had a problem with the death fork at that time!
