Help!

I joined this group to ask you all experts for some information on two bicycles that my dad brought back from Vietnam. He has Alzheimers and dementia and no room to store these bikes so Im trying to sell them. One says Deki and is a dark blue and the other one is a Bridgestone Shine Star? Has anyone heard of these bikes?

Welcome.

The Bridgestone Shine Star seems to be a Japanese model - here's a link to another thread on them https://www.bikeforums.net/classic-v...hat-thing.html Does that look like the bike you have? Unfortunately the link to a Japanese blog in post #17 isn't working for me, which might provide more info.

Deki is a new one to me - does it look like any of these? & https://www.bikeforums.net/classic-v...-bicycles.html

If you get a chance to take some photos of the bikes and upload them to an album in your User profile, we can share them and help you figure out what you have.

Edit: looks like you have another thread on this now https://www.bikeforums.net/classic-v...i-bicycle.html

By going through the Asian Serial Number Guide sticky thread and cross-referencing the serial numbers of both frames, you could find out the specific manufacturer. It took a bit of reading and research, but I found out my early 80s Univega Alpina Uno was made by Dodsun for Univega.
