(That's 28-37mph currently, and 37-55mph forecasted.)
I almost got blown over walking to the corner store, so an enjoyable ride seems out of the question. I guess I'll do some laundry right now, JUST in case the wind dies down later.

Thanks for doing the conversion. I was thinkin' it was, like, 5-7 mph, so I was gonna tell you to HTFU.
Yeah...that would discourage me too....not to mention it's below freezing, right?

Below freezing, and there's still snow cover. It's a whiteout! I didn't bother mentioning it since most people assume so.

That kind of wind is killer. Takes the fun out of the ride. I once rode an out-and-back route in wind kind of like that and I didn't made it off the 39t ring for the 1st half of the ride. The return was much nicer.
29c or so here (that's 85f for us non-metric types) and no wind. It's a rest day for me, so no ride anyway.

I endured 35+mph gusts on Saturday and 20+mph on Sunday. The cross winds were a bit scary when going 20+. Even with your conditions, I still would have rode right into the wind and enjoyed the tail winds on the way back.

I ran yesterday due to the winds here. Though I usually run every other day and ride the others so I swapped days.

I had to ride home from work this spring into a 50mph headwind with 65 mph gusts. I tried to wuss out but my wife wasn't available to come get me. A Ride that normally takes me 30 minutes ended up taking 55 minutes. The most bothersome part was all the dirt that flew into my eyes during the process. Yack!

I feel you. Afternoon winds on the Cali. central coast are routinely 25-20 mph sustained with gusts of 30+. Makes allergy season even more fun. I've just learned to live with it.

oh yeah, don't feel like a wuss. I've hit the trainer several times when it was sunny, mid 60's, but blowing like heck.

The lowest sustained winds we'll have all week are 14.5kph, and the highest will be around 40kph. When riding along the coast road it's a common sight to see cyclists on aero wheels to be yawing crazily to one side trying to stay up

It was pretty windy here today, went out anyway for a quick ride and was regretting it after the first few miles. Apparently in Newport News the wind blows in all directions when it blows.

Don't worry bean, I didn't ride either.
last time I rode in winds like that, I almost got blown into the path of a truck.
Thought about having someone drop me off in St. Adolphe and racing them back to the city though.
