A little over 2.5hr w/ 4x15min @ 100% yesterday night. Legs felt like trash during the z2 part but really woke up during the intervals. Had the best I've had all year. Getting a bit worn down between work and training. Hope I can get a little boost on the easy next couple of days.

Day off. Rode to work on my commuterized Rock Hopper so I wouldn't be tempted to jump on the Thursday night group ride.

Attempted ZCIs and failed embarrassingly, even after dialing down my power target based on reduced FTP (vs. last fall, which was the last time I did ZCIs). The first interval was already hard, and I pretty much gave up during the second one. Since the Garmin was still happily beeping away, I sort of finished the workout, keeping the work intervals at least near the middle of Z4 - but nowhere near where I wanted them to be. Looks like I have a ways to go...

After some review, numbers from yesterday were quite a bit better than I was hoping.
Even on the laps up the hills where some teammates and I were in "race mode" of surging and slowing the power averages were in the high range of what I was hoping to average on a steady effort.
Didn't really blow until the last 30" of the last effort, and even then I managed to keep the power up.
I'll count that as an "interval pacing win"

I would have liked to get some real work done today on the bike, but had assisted living intervals followed by young kid intervals. Besides that, my legs are a little junky still from Tuesday. Did an easy 45 minutes and called it good.

3:20, 90kms. Astonishing headwind heading out, I was doing 40km/h without even trying, but then on the way back........... <-- that's sorta what it looked like. My left big toe was almost frostbitten, or so it felt, it was black and half my foot was numb.
When is to low of a body temp to be riding?? My garmin said that my avg. temp was 3* C (37.4 F) and lowest was -1* C (30 F).
By the end of the ride I was limpimg home, almost literally, lol, my whole waist was killing, and I could barely walk up the staris or standup when I got home. That's all the whining I'm going to do.
Edit: I got lost..

BAD stomach virus. No riding since Sunday's racing. Will try to spin easy, if I can stop curling up for long enough to do so.

Started off with weight training and some long easy rides, now I've been doing lots of threshold/sweet spot for the past month with a little bit of racing and vo2 max thrown in. It's my first season, so I'm racing cat 5
Did 2:20 of sweet spot in the hills yesterday past sunset, recovery day today, 2x20's on Friday, racing saturday, long ride sunday. Trying to bring the overall volume up, as I'm only doing 6-7 hours per week right now. Green line is moving up so that's good Getting pretty tired now though
My season so far, got sick followed by injured so there's a 2 week gap

Little did I realize that this meant that I had to pedal the whole damn time, which wound up making it the most painful 2 hours ever.
In Re: to cold, as long as you have warm enough clothing it's pretty much fine at whatever temp.

Ya but with rollers you get breaks, but also have to work like a dog first. It's like consecutively switching from 80% to 90% every minute or just doing 85% the whole time. Either way you'd do 85% and have no legs at the end. All it was on my route was rollers: https://connect.garmin.com/activity/284379434
Ps. To rk and TKP, I'm sure it wouldn't be that bad if I brought more than a 150 calorie granola bar on a 2000 calorie buring ride..I don't prepare at all. As for clothing I have everything I need but my toes on both feet are freezing! My rents told me my shoes could be too tight, I'll test that out next time.
