Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I spent a lot of time looking at those before buying the Sherpa. It's one bike per tray.

But, one of us will be telling the other "I told you so" in the not too distant future.

You want to represent me when I sue for false advertising.

Specs clearly say 3 bikes.

It will hold three bikes if you put on 3 trays.

You'd have to get awfully creative to exhaust burn a wheel on a tray rack.

When using hanging racks it can happen pretty easily if you don't keep an eye out for it.

any benefit of 2 inch hitch over the smaller hitch? I picked 2 inch because I thought it was the standard size, but if I can get the sherpa for 200 dollars cheaper 1.25 inches might be the way to go. I don’t plane on using the hitch for anything but bikes.

Click on “Fitment” and look at what you need to carry 2 or 3 bikes on the “single” rack.

False advertising. That was not clear in the presentation. In fact the picture with bikes shows 2 bikes. Everybody is lying to me. Sheesh.

Get an adapter so you can put the 1.25 rack in a 2” receiver.

Kuat makes on for $25.

The male part is actually 1.25”. He’s trying to throw it into a 2” receiver.

Well the HPX3 did not come back to life after leaving Bob’s possession. It works, more or less but is very hard to push and the barrel heats up. I’m gonna have to pull it apart one of these days. In the meantime I got a 32mm tire up to 55psi in a reasonable period of time using this little guy.

Might not be so reasonable with a 2.25” tire. The Topeak is due on the 17th, if the mule train doesn’t run into problems. It’s a DHL mule train, so says Amazon.

all of the rack brands are gonna have adapters like that. It's just an extra piece of metal that you bolt on to the smaller tongue. Also, unless you're hauling multiple heavy e-bikes, a 1.25" rack is just fine. If you wanna do 3 bikes regularly or 2 ebikes, go 2".

For up to two regular (non-ebike) MTB or road bikes at a time, 1.25" is perfectly fine.

Some Thule hitch racks come with a heavy duty plastic adapter already installed, then you just take that off if you've got a 1.25" receiver

All those tubes I was patching..,. Too much time in the tropical heat. They disintegrate with any pressure at all. I lost two of them last evening and never left the house. Brand new ones procured this morning. I might keep the extras in the fridge. Are there any gases in there that can mess with artificial rubber?
