Luckily, we had a gallon of apple cider vinegar in the house, so I soaked myself in it, and in less than 5 minutes the itching stopped.

But now, it's worn off at work and all i can think about is getting home and doing that again. I don't even care that i smell like salad dressing. It really works. Besides this is my last week here anyway!

Guy interested in my trek actually posted in C&V appraisals asking what its worth. Of course, C&V mostly cares about completeness and condition. Which this bike does not have, despite being a great bike anyways.

ex: "bike doesn't even have full Shimano 600, it's missing the hubs."

Uh, yeah, because it has Campy Record instead.

One of them even evaluated it at $200 :/ Which is insane. But of course this interested dude's gonna believe it, because someone on the internet said it!

They made some good points, though. I don't want to completely dismiss what they said, and I likely have overpriced the bike a bit, since I'm trying to lose as little money as possible on this.

Maybe I should chime in and evaluate it at $1000?

I worked in a pawn shop in undergrad and grad school. Things are worth what people pay for them, which is an ever moving target. If it is a nice bike and he likes it, then he should provide a reasonable offer. The Internet is a painful way to get knowledge in many areas. Good luck with your sale. Heck, link me to the thread and I will go play.

You'll seriously be receiving PM's in your inbox calling you crazy.

Oof, you really got a thrashing in that thread.
Don't take it too heavily, some of these guys would ding you for having superior/ more expensive philwood hubs instead of the looseball ones that are in the group. #antiquesroadshow

Did a nice little blast around town and campus with a buddy of mine this evening. Little 25 mile ride or so to include parking ramps and some screwing around in traffic. After wearing jerseys and moisture wicking shirts, wearing a regular cotton t shirt just sucks!! Trying to find more bike specific clothing that isn't necessarily a scream in your face jersey.

you are a braver man than i, that business can definitely turn you out for sure

i only ask because i shot exactly 3 weddings, after that i realized i could never make a living doing that without killing myself and several other people. the only one i liked was the super traditional mexican wedding, now that was dope.

Oh come on, you guys don't like dealing with D bag guys, and their *****y wives who think that the world is supposed to stop and cater to them because "it's their special day", despite the fact that they will probably be divorced in a couple years anyway?

i only had one of those and honestly, it was sad. it was like they were getting married for the party and nothing else. the groomsmen were late to the church because they spent over half an hr in the liquor store on the way there.

for me, its because the days are very long, very busy, you barely get a chance to stop and breathe, and it turned something i liked to do creatively into a "tool" which really put me off

I was at the Ford Museum in Detroit a coupla weeks ago, and there was a "Just Married" couple in there(yeah, they came to the museum for their wedding pics) and they were dogging their photographer so hard. I felt bad for him. They were being total cahnts, both of them.

just read this, i love how like 4 people automatically concluded that the fork was replaced because the frame was crashed. as if thats literally the only reason someone would change the fork on a bike, ever.

and the prospective buyer making such a deal about repacking hubs, like he has to find a special LBS 100 miles away to rethread a brazilian left hand BB shell or something

They even had percentages for fork replacements due to crash vs due to upgrades. I guess they ran a study including every bike shop and home mechanic in the world.

Went to City Hall this afternoon to join a die-in. There's an artery where they put in a bike lane a couple years ago, now it's got like four ghost bikes.

It was like that when I got it, so I can only say what the guy I bought it from said. Oh well. I'm gonna tell him I have a cinelli bar/stem combo I'll throw in if he buys it at $500. Lesson learned: buy bikes that fit you.

That brought back memories of dealing with Caloi bicycles. Brazilian metallurgy was not very good 30 years ago, at least not on those bikes.
