WTB 9s Ultegra 600 DT shifters
Looking for these for a 9s index DT build without having to get into the Dura Ace universe. Looking for hardware that is complete.
Thanks.

Did you mean Ultegra 6500 9-speed? I don’t believe DTs were ever made for that series. I can’t find any mention of them on the Shimano documentation website.

Josh, you may be correct. I thought there was such an animal during the 600 series to Ultegra branding change but maybe not. BF seemed like the best bet to sort it.

The easiest thing to do is get a set of 8 speed downtube shifters and run them as 9 speed with the rear derailleur cable in the alternate position. You would be able to run all 9 speeds because there's an extra click on the 8s shifters.

The 7700 DA DT shifters are compatible with 9 speed Ultegra. When DA went 9 speed, it was no longer its own universe.

They are around, but not that common. Shimano made 10s Dura Ace DT shifters as well.

Thanks all. I will look for the Dura Ace shifters first. If no luck, I will make a swerve to Campag.
What a great community.

I've also heard that Dura Ace 7700 bar end shifters can be removed from their pods and mounted to down tube shifter bosses. Maybe someone here can verify this. I do know that Gevenalle Audax cyclocross brake levers (with square down tube bosses mounted on top) can be run this way with either bar end shifters or down tube shifters for a super durable fun alternative to brifters. I have 3 x7 Shimano 105 SC down tube shift levers mounted on these Gevenalle (company used to be called "Retroshift") brake lever shifter pods.
6500 Ultegra and 7700 Dura Ace are fully compatible, and the DA shifters will play the part.

The bar ends just don't have the friction option. BFD
And they're cheap

Early 10 speeds too. I think 7850 is when friction went away, also 7900.
