Who made this Huffy?
photo of a sexy Huffy from Peloton mag this month.
the article mentions 1986, name Kevin Hatt—seems a Canadian Photographer?
having seen Serotta-made Seven Eleven white-red Huffy, never seen this one before.
is this another version of Serotta made high-end Huffy racer?
just curious and thought someone here might know.

Somewhat slow older guy
I thought some of the Huffy frames were made in a custom shop in Dayton - can't remember the builder's name - someone here might. Don't know if this might be one.

Sponsored Bike frames for racing can be Custom hand made in a small shop, and Painted with the logo of the sponsor.
It happens a Lot. Merckx Hour record bike was made by DeRosa, painted with Windsor's Money as they were setting the record in The Mexico City Olympic Velodrome ,
and At the time Windsor was a Mexican bike making company. Now its in the front office at Merckx Bike company , and has their paint job on it.

I'd assume this is a re-branded Serotta wearing Huffy decals. Small chance that since LeMond could choose any frame he liked to be disguised as a "Huffy" it might be from Roland Della Santa, but that's just my wild speculation. Greg should know the truth, if he can remember back that far.

I recall seeing a Huffy funnybike in that exact color scheme. I believe it's still at a nearby town's only bike shop, on display up high so I will have to wear good glasses to get a proper good look at it. The owner mentioned it was owned by Greg LeMond btw.
LeMond lived and rode in this area, so a nearby builder like Mandaric or Della Santa could be the culprit.

I'm guessing Della Santa. He made Greg Lemond's bikes in the 80's.

He made Greg's bikes when both were in like Reno NV, so that may be right.. just painted them to reflect the source of the Sponsor.

Mike Melton made the funny bikes used on the track in the LA olympics. He was from Dayton at the time, and if I remember correctly, the bikes wore Huffy labels.

Mike Melton was working for Huffy at the time. He made all the aerobikes for 7/11 cycling team which were the first aero bikes to be used in the Tour de France. I still have one of those frames which I got from the team 87 or 88 iirc. Of course they were Huffy True Temper

The Serotta (and Melton?) "Huffies" were for US domestic racers IIRC (and maybe 7-11. Or were those "Murrays"?). Greg's shorts say "LOOK". That should be a clue right there. He was riding for La Vie Claire in France at the time, so it could actually have been a 753 Look.

1. It was taken in Colorado Springs at the 1986 World Championship.
2. The guy in the left is Paul Kochli director of La Vie Claire which is Greg's team in Europe.
3. Greg was part of the US team therefore he had the freedom to use something different than his european team.
4 If iirc there was no bike sponsor for the us team and not everybody use the same bike, I may be wrong here. Greg rode this bike at the worlds. I wonder if he had some type of sponsorship by Huffy?.
