11T Shimano SS Conversion Cog
Hello,
I was thinking about filing down an 11-tooth Shimano cog, so that it would be single speed friendly, has anyone ever done this?
Any tips, advice

Google "single speed conversion kit". You can buy single speed cogs/spacers that fit onto most multi-speed freehubs. Most people go with something like a 16t, or 18t on the rear. You'd need a pretty small front ring to make an 11t work.
You'll probably want to run a chain tensioner to keep it all in place.

For any single speed or fixed gear drive train for maximum efficiency and durability you want to go as large as possible. Figure out your gearing that you want and go for it. I would not want to run an 11t cog for really any reason as my single speed cog. 16t is the general go to and you can easily get a bigger front ring as needed. Plenty of great options.
