I have asked someone "How many legs does a sheep have if you call the tail a leg?"*
Probably makes me either a history buff or an engineer or a first class jerk. Come to think of it, all three seem to go together a lot!
* Predates Lincoln, but he is reported to have said this or something similar on several occasions.

trek 5200 was free. Madone 2.0 and the MTB was less than 500 total. The emonda was a trade in. The madone and the Ritchey I had had for a while.
So no I don’t buy a new bike monthly. Stuff does fall in my lap sometimes. This other bike would also be free.
Oh and my daughters new 24 inch pre caliber was free.

Today's my "Go forth and sin no more" appointment with my PCP regarding the cellulitis. Probably don't need to do it, but after all I'm now officially old - although I learned just this year that Social Security doesn't think I'm old for another year and a half, which seems unfair with life expectancy in the US plummetting the last few years. That and all my older siblings got the 65 year full retirement age, although none of them took it - my 74 year old sister is STILL not completely retired!

I retired at 63, soon as my kid graduated college. Doesn't matter I wasn't full retirement age yet, I immediately began saving more than the difference in benefit would have given me since at the time I was commuting 800 miles a week in a vehicle using premium gasoline. It was a no-brainer.
