Haven't been bicycle touring in Australia, and likely never will, but I thought with all these great wilderness dirt-trail pics everyone's been showing this would be a suitable addition to the discussion.
The Mawson Trail in south Australia, 900km long, through the Ikara-Flinders Ranges National Park area, from just north of Adelaide to Blinman. Looks like an amazing area of the countryside, for exploring via a bike. Stunning scenery, ancient fossils, dirt roads/trails galore.

Herr STR, can't remember if I've already shown these, but here's one of my "village old guys hanging out playing whatever game" shots. Gotta love these small town people encounters, and every place in every country has the same old guys hanging out. It's great isn't it?
This was in southern France about 15 years ago.

"Soy Ed, el caballo que habla"
Back in the 80s when living in Latin America, the family I lived with had a tv, and there was a dubbed American show from the 50s that used to come on . "Ed the talking horse" original name of show. I learned Spanish watching it, so your photo made me think of that......
And last shot, I always like a moody sky landscape shot. Nice one.
Love riding through stuff like that and love taking them.
Mexico somewhere

Man, oh man, but are my rides mostly boring with a capital "B" ... compared to some of ^ those recent treks into the wilds.
Beautiful spots, str . Hard not to fall in love with rides where one does a bit of exploring off the beaten path, when seeing some of what can be found out there.

thanks Clyde, serious, Spain is really great for off-road and little roads touring, endless kilometres without traffic.

Rode the GAP last week.
Got caught in a tornado watch and had to hide in a tunnel for an hour.
Great success.
