This is why I touched on hunger vs craving. To me, snacking = craving, which is different than actually being hungry. If you need "filling," then you're hungry and, yeah, calorically dense is not the ticket; in that case, I think that you either eat or, with respect to Jens, you say "shut up stomach."

Every Fall and Spring, I make up an Excel worksheet, copying the sunrise and sunset times, then adding columns where I either add (morning) or subtract (evening) 2 1/2 hours, so I can tell how early I could expect to start work if I were on the road at dawn, or how early I'd have to LEAVE work to ride after work and before dark.

Of course, now with COVID and WFH, the hours are much more flexible.

This the problem in a nutshell, or as LesterOfPuppets would have it, a nutsack - I have a craving that can be fulfilled by chips, or nuts, or even cereal and milk, but these all have more calories than I need. I need something that handles the craving without the calories.

On Saturday shop notified me that my Revolt is finally being built. Hopefully I can grab tomorrow and go play in the snow. It’s the bike on the left.

The last few weeks in the Fall before DST ends are the most critical, or at least they WERE when I had to leave work and drive 20 miles to where I park to ride. The time required to change, collect my stuff, drive there, get the bike out and set up, put on shoes and helmet, and get going is about half an hour, so if I don't stop working and start getting ready in time, I end up getting back to the car later than I'm comfortable.

This means that Wednesdays and Fridays in late October I finish up earlier and earlier. Luckily, my boss is on the East Coast, and what he doesn't see can't hurt me.

Speaking of years with day/date repeats, I always get a chuckle when one of my more gullible FB friends re-posts something like "There are 5 Tuesdays this month! This only happens every 500 years!"

Velo Vol requires no spreadsheet. Only a check of the sunset time and a two second calculation. But maybe he's better than math than you.
