Quick question - Shimano 9 cassette with Campy 10 drivetrain?
I've not run Campy+Shimano drivetrains, and I know the answer is somewhere in a thread ……
On a Campy 10 drivetrain (pre-2006) will a DuraAce 9 cassette work? Without modification to spacers.
TIA

Shimano 9-speed casette spacing is 4.35mm. Campag 10-speed is 4.15mm. I haven't tried this combo but my guess is that shifting may be a little sloppy at either end of the cassette if adjusted perfectly in the middle.

Nope: won't work: too much difference in cog center to center dimensions. I've put together many unholy combinations of Shimano and Campagnolo, and this is outside of acceptable tolerances.
What does work perfectly is a Shimano 10-speed cassette using Campagnolo 10-speed shifters and a Campagnolo indexing rear derailleur from 1992 to 2000.
