What was interesting about Puch/AD was that they were willing to use Japanese components on their bikes while most other Euro bike companies stay with just Euro components.

What are the odds that Connie Carpenter's Puch track bike was actually made by in Puch's factory?

The sidebar, “The Largest Small Shop in the World”, was fascinating.

Man, another "mid-level grail" bicycle to search for... those Suntour single braze on shift levers, every time I see a bicycle with those, I immediately think to myself, "86".

It is so kind of SpeedofLite to post these as there are many nice stock bikes that seem quite desirable and were perhaps made in enough quantities to be found. Mere mortals looking at some custom bikes may have a hard time evaluating before putting money down, especially on an internet purchase.

Yes... three cheers to SpeedofLite for all the wonderful sharing of info (which doesn't come without effort). "HIP HIP. HIP HIP. HIP HIP."
