Anybody put cable ferrules inside of the shifter????

1) Speed of shifters
2) Brake or derailleur housing stop

I was asking because somebody asked me that question, time ago a friend with a store saw a campagnolo veloce shifters with ferulles in both derailleurs cables, I have never put ferrulles at the lever level, I have no idea if somebody is doing it.

Campagnolo instruction clearly states that ferrules should be used on the Ergopower end of the cable housing. If one is installing new Campagnolo cables, the end of the housing with the pre-crimped ferrule should go into the Ergopower and the other open end should be trimmed and ferruled (presumably onto the cable stop).

I read the instructions and my Campy cables did not come with pre-crimped ferrules just a bag of them?

Well, I don't know then!

WAG: The Campagnolo cables that come with the pre-crimped ferrules are also pre-lubricated with grease at the pre-crimped end, as the instructions alluded to. Therefore, it appears that putting the pre-crimped end into the Ergopower serves only to ensure that the grease is pushed in the correct direction, when the inner cable is installed into the Ergopower and threaded through the rest of the cable housing. So, it further appears that the reference to the pre-crimped ferrule is a red herring. The important bit is that there is a ferrule in the Ergopower.

Brake and shifter ferrules are cheap and I use them unless it's physically impossible to on every component...

I just checked on a new campy cable set and it comes with 5 ferrules

but when I look at the instruction for setting up brake shifters, it doesn't show the ferrules at the brake shifters. I use the ferrules at the housing stops on the frame

I've done it both ways. Both ways worked. Of course, you need a really thin ferrule to fit inside the brifter -- those plastic ones work well. I think this is why Campy housing is 4.5 mm vs. 5 mm.

11 speed requries NO such ferrules in the shifter body for shift housing, or brake housing.

You don't know because you haven't worked on any of the latest stuff. 11 speed kits, NO ferrules are precrimped onto shift or brake housing and none are needed that terminate inside the shifter, for both.
