Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Is that a rip or a tear or what?
Kind of looks like a dent. And, you should take those tires back from where you got them and let them know, this crap should not be happening for 50/tire. Sorry to hear. Was never a fan of Michelin myself.

Not enough vertical clearance. I originally went with TRP CX8.4 mini-v's, and there was only a couple of mm clearance between the cable and a 650x42B tire. Fenders, Hetres, or knobbies would have been completely out of the question. Any brake with longer arms would have been too much for the Campy levers (and I don't want to mess with Travel Agents).

All the components finally came in, and now she's complete. (But she will get a different wheelset soon).

The perfect roadie accessory. Bought this for our tandem to replace the heavier Topeak Road Morph. Also jettisoned my CO2.

Just ordered four Conti GP 4 Seasons 28mm from Wiggle. $181 total with tubes. I'm actually going to try these on my Volagi. The stock ride is very good, but the stock 25mm tires are wearing like iron and may not have the greatest grip. Will be interesting to see how the wider tire affects the ride. The tandem uses 28mm and wears rear tires relatively fast so they won't go to waste

Great stuff david. I know that feeling. I just got my force group in the same way. All at once in one big box separated into even better boxes. It's a great joy opening that stuff. Better than christmas. The 2012 Rival groups Is definitely a setup up from my 2010 Rival! Very nice. Enjoy setting that up.

rdtompki - I am so glad you posted that pump. My touring partner and I were just about to go buy the roadmorph as it was the only travel sized floor pump we could find that was light enough. That Lezyne is sweet as hell and I think we will pick those up instead. Thanks!

You should make your cables longer, and wrap them around the stem to the other side. It looks much cleaner that way, just a suggestion.
