11spd and rear derailleur compatibility
I picked up an OpenPro/Dura Ace wheelset today for $60 in really good shape and it came with an 11-28 11spd cassette. I've never used anything beyond 9spd gear. As well, I don't have any 11spd shifters. However, I'm considering buying an 11spd right hand bar shifter to mate to the 9spd left hand shifter I already have. But, my Ultegra group is 9spd. Would the rear derailleru shift an 11spd cassette, though??
Thanks!
Thanks!

You'll need a newer road 10 or 11-speed RD to work on an 11-speed cassette with an 11-speed shifter.
That is: a Shimano road 11-speed RD, or a 10-speed Tiagra 4700 RD, or a GRX RD.
My article on rear derailleur compatibility (mix-matching & all).

I dunno what you mean by respacing the cassette but your best bet is it just get rid of the 11 sp and replacing with one that you typically use (9 sp).
