700c x 25 Tube Question

I have 700c x 25 tires in my older model Bianchi Giro.

When shopping for tubes online I see tubes sized 20-25 and 25-32.

It would seem the 20-25 would be lighter and easier to mount but am I missing something?

Is there an advantage and/ or disadvantage between the two?

These are labeled Continental Race.

Your thoughts?

Thanks

The 20/25 tube will start with a smaller diameter, which when inflated will stretch the tube more. If the tube
has any imperfection/scratch/thin area then that will provide a potential trouble area. The 20/25 tube will be
easier to install and lighter as you note. The risk of potential trouble area is low, but not insignificant. A patch
on the smaller tube will result in more distortion of the tube in the larger tire, again mostly insignificant.
Stuffing a 25/32 tube in some tires (especially those that are hard to mount anyway) can be a challenge.

Thank you. So much to learn as a relatively new cyclist.

You're on the fence and could opt for either. Your best choice would depend on the details.

The first and most important depends on reality vs. markings. Since tubes are basically butyl balloons, there's plenty of stretch, so there's plenty of latitude of actual size among different brands marked the same.

IMO, you want the flat width to be equal to or slightly greater than the tires width. This allows some expansion when inflated without being stretched thin. I prefer this because it allows the tube to expand down into the rim space without overstretched, which happens with narrow rims.

Different makers will give a lot of sizing options.
Example a 23-25mm which would be my choice, everything else being equal. (which may or not)
