Water bottles. No cages.

You guys really put a lot of thought into your water bottles. I've been using a Vermont Spring Water bottle on my bike since my last ski trip in February. Purchased - full - for $1.59 in a gas station near Stowe. The label is faded and tearing off, but it holds water and features a cool sport cap.

Does not interfere with wireless PM transmission or Di2. I talked to the guy that owns this little enterprise today. I think I just convinced him to offer a $69 package which would include two 20oz bottles and two bike mounts. I'm telling you weenies, once you try this system, you'll love it. If you like it he'd sell you more magnets and more proprietary bottles. Very smart design. He's got other products in the works. The bike industry needs innovative design like this.

how hard is it to align the magnets on the bottle with the magnets on the frame? Seems overly complicated.

nothing like saving a couple of grams on a 3lb bottle of water. I've never considered how my water bottles look. As long as they are clean and the top opens/shuts, it performs as designed.

I would buy a set but what would I do with my two overpriced titanium cages?

Depends on the ones you get. Some of those 1l bottles are REALLY hard to remove from cages. Really tough to get back in also.

Do you need the mounts if you have a steel frame? Couldn't you just stick them anywhere?

that requires extra coordination to line up the magnet while riding. I like to just jam the water bottle back in the cage.

Not really. Of course half the Freds here can't clip out of their friggin Keos without keeling over, so it might require skill sets that defy the limited Fred Intellect typical of BF.

I googled it and saw a video, its got my attention and noticed the wedge in the bottle, making it easier to line up. Ive read reviews where folks use it off road and have had no issues. I think its a pretty cool idea and tempted to try it out myself! $35 for cage and bottle at Treefort.

What? Pcad needs water bottles? The BF pope can't just call water forth out of the air or rocks or something when he's thirsty? Doesn't sound very popelike to me. Maybe more like bishop or cardinal at best.

Marked up bottles don't bother me, though. If that was a pet peeve, I could see this marking more sense. Outside of that, it seems to answer the question that no one, except for pcad, asked.

Damn I just got 2 Arundel Mandible cages for my new Parlee. These magnets might have shaved the last few ounces off to bring it under 14lbs :-).
I thought these were a solution to a problem that doesn't exist when I saw them at ATOC, but if I knew Pcad likes 'em then this weenie probably would have bought them too. My issue in bottles is neglect of the interior over time - meaning I'd still need new ones every so often. Unless you married that double opening bottle to the magnet system and then...

Will probably put on my cross bike for training rides.
Hmm, but my cross bike is steel - will it become a giant magnet now?
