Then I swapped out the heavy seatpost that came with this along with the Flite saddle. Those never get along with me on rides. Put on a Fizik Kurve Chameleon saddle with Thomson seatpost. Finally I swapped out the heavy stem and bars for the light Cinelli Grammo and Cinelli Top Ergo 66 bars. Even with the heavier wheels the total weight dropped by 10 ozs.

Final build will be black bar tape

Chorus RD

Generic Skeleton brakes

Thompson Seatpost and Fizik Saddle

Grammo stem, so light.

Generic Skeleton brakes

Top Ergo 66 bars

Chrous crankset with Record FD

Record hubs with Belgium C2 rims
very good choice of components looking to see the finally product

Is the top part of the seat stay crimped or solid? I'm guessing solid. My curiosity is piqued.

It sounds like you've made some thoughtful adjustments to your bike setup! By swapping out the wheels for the Record/Hed Belgium set, you’re aiming for better tire volume with the GP 5000s, which should improve your ride comfort and performance in the cold, rainy conditions. Modifying the Veloce cassette to fit a modern hub is a smart move for compatibility, and opting for a Fizik Kurve Chameleon saddle and Thomson seatpost over the heavier alternatives will likely enhance your comfort on long rides. The lighter Cinelli stem and bars not only reduce the overall weight but also maintain the bike’s handling dynamics. Dropping 10 ounces is a nice improvement, especially considering the wheelset is heavier. How does the bike feel with these changes on the road?
