Drop a note here to someone you'd like to thank.
I'd like to thank the guy who sold me my first steel road bike. He gave me a heckuva deal (I had no idea how great it even was at the time). We talked a while, and just like a pet, he wanted his bike to go to a good home where it would be used.
Well sir, it started me on a journey of enjoyment and fitness that I wish would have began much sooner, and I thank you.

I would like to thank the people that sold me my Dyno around 10 years ago. They were just wanting to get rid of it and had it for $50 at their rummage sale. I was 11 and up till then had pretty much destroyed every cheap bike my parents had gotten me within a couple of weeks.... until then. I can say that I still have that bike and other than needing a new rear tire, it is in great shape and can still handle me riding it super hard.

I would like to thank the guys from Homewood Cycle whom I was paired up with on a MS150 back in 1989 as there ham radio operator.
It took me from a kid bike rider on a stingray to the world of road cycling. Got my first tips that day and have been in love with cycling since.

I would like to thank the academy...oh wait, wrong speech...
Seriously, Len Ramsay, Seamus Gantley and Andy Beldam; A 2 time Juniour National Champion, a National team rider from Ireland and a wrench with oodles of experience for mentoring me and guiding me through the pitfalls of nOObness back in the early 80's.
They set me on the right path.

I would like to thank ABC's wide world of sports which broadcast the Great American Bike Race (now called the RAAM) in 1982. It got me interested in riding long distances for fun.

I would like to thank my girlfriend who is understanding enough to let me head out on my day rides without ever complaining. And I would like to thank the mountains around here for their never ending inspiration to get out and ride.

I'd like to thank Mr. Mike F. for making my recent birthday a most spectacular one by selling me his old Bianchi Nuova Alloro (with an extra set of Wolber Aeros ! ) for a whopping $100. It's always lovely when a complete stranger makes your day.

Thanks to Psimet for the kind advice rendered free herein when I built my first from-scratch wheelset for my beloved Schwinn Peloton. (I enjoyed building that bike so much, that now I'm working on another one; same year, same model, just one size smaller.)
Thanks to Canyoneagle, Martian, TCS, Fietsbob, IRClean, Paulrivers, Dahut and Steve for the advice they gave that lead me toward my beloved Globe Live 3.
Thanks to Bigbossman, who sent me a box of old-style bottles for free. (My knees bump these stupid modern big-mouth bottles that have monopolized LBS shelves lately.
Thanks to Nate Loyal in Santa Monica for saving me from knee surgery, and for transforming my pedaling.
Thanks to UMD for being a cool dude in person and yelling encouragement when I was struggling on the last two miles of l'Etape. (I don't know if I could be as modest if I'd finished l'Etape directly behind Dave frickin' Zabriskie.) When are we going to allow this man to return?
Thanks to Chris and the AdventureCorps volunteers. They really know how to put on a special event.
