Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I think they're a little more than semi-sarcastic. I'm pretty sure nobody's abandoning their family or anything.

Anyone remember the "Blue Collar TV" spoof titled "Hick Eye for the Queer Guy"?
A bunch of rednecks went to a gay guy's apartment to give him lifestyle advice.
One of them opened his closet and exclaimed:

"Well, raght thar's yer problem; Yoo got too many sleeves!"

He then proceeded to rip the sleeves off everything in the guy's closet.

It is very simple really:

Tan things are better then white things.

Tan fat is better then white fat.

Tan skinny arms are better then white skinny arms.

Tan ugly chics are way better looking than pasty white ugly chics.

If going sleeveless bothers you that much, you can always get sleeves with logos tattooed on your upper arms.

Sounds like insecurity to me, wear whatever you are comfortable with, who cares what anyone else thinks! Been thinking I need a couple of sleeveless jerseys to wear!

Do I look that bad? You can tell I'm more passionate about beer than triathalons, but in the spirit crushing heat and humidity of South Florida, sleeveless ain't so bad. I think I can pull it off. I do. I really do

Negative. I shaved my legs once back in high school when I made state for swimming but the hair growing back was horrible. I did however like the feel

HAH! I love my sleeveless jerseys and I would never think of jumping out of the water and unto my bike.

Living in the hot humid land of Florida makes the sleeveless jersey perfect for me. Not only are they cooler, able to extend my tan...but I have the arms to pull it off. (6'3'' at 185 lbs - looks good sleeveless... just check my tweeter posts)

However, when the cooler season returns, I am back in my normal jerseys.

You haven't ridden with us round SoCal - there's a few guys faster than me who I tail, and we routinely overtake and dump roadie teams on the PCH and the adjacent climbs.

I don't own any, but in Australian summers you can forgive someone for wearing sleeveless and not giving a ****. Even some bibs and knicks are too thick.
