Help With my new old OHM XU700

hello everyone im Walter and im new to the site.
Picked up this bike last week its a 2010 OHM urban XU700.
has no charger or display and was sitting in a guys back yard.
I want to resurrect it.
is it even possible?
found a BionX, 3327, G2 Console for it on amazon 86$
the charger is not available anywhere looks like faynada.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=3538
is there an alternative to it?

What are my options and proper steps to take?

If the parts on this page fit your bike, could cost you over $1100 for console, charger, and battery. Around 2010, Bionx switched over to a proprietary system so you probably have to use their battery. I'd be wary of nuyoing used parts. Might not fit or work.

If it were my project, I would see if the motor would run on a third party controller. Then I'd install that and use a third party battery. If the motor is proprietary too, then I'd buy a motor kit off ebay and replace the whole thing. I'd have to see this bike. If it's ugly, I wouldn't bother.

My first ebike conversion, in 2015, used a $200 motor kit and a $280 36V battery from China. Kind of risky, but the motor/battery still work well. Today, I'd want to spend $500 for battery from a US vendor.

I have that bike that I've been meaning to get rid of through parts. Was bought new in Aug 2014 (but model could be earlier year) & ridden through to April 2016. Retired it because I wanted a faster bike & the bearings in the motor seem to be shot after 10,000+ miles. I'm not sure how good the battery still is, but it was still enough for 16 miles (half my commute) at the time I stopped riding it. Not a great looking ebike to me, but was comfortable to ride.

do you have the charger for it? is it a 4 prong? what model number is on the display? are you located anywhere near Seattle?

I read somewhere that if the battery is under a certain percentage it will not take a charge. is that true? also wondering if i could use a charger that is different voltage and amperage if so what is the safe alternative charger?

I still have the all the parts, but I've been procrastinating on getting rid as much as I can to recoup some of the $1900 I paid for the bike in 2014.

I'm in Chicago, but I put it on Ebay for $80 shipped.

Looks like you can still get it new through OHM for $108 shipped.

What about the console that plugs in the front? What serial number is it?

There are no markings beyond the barcode sticker that rubbed off on mine. I'm assuming there are not separate versions of it and that they're interchangeable.

You could try finding a local ebike shop that services Bionx & see if they could help you confirm the rest of the bike is good by charging battery, powering up console, engaging motor.

You're in Seattle. Seattle Electric Bike is a Bionx authorized dealer. They will be able to answer all your questions and order all your required parts.

I called the place and they said they can help and will take a look at it.
When i got there they looked at it and said the battery is dead we cant do anything. And then tryed to sell me a new bike...

Just search for Bionx G2 console. It'll be the cheapest listing.

I'm trying to figure how to post the battery since shipping these are a big hassle/expense.

Here are pics of the battery. Again this is from a 2014 bought bike. Not sure if anything changed from 2010 as far as mounting.

Bionix are generally of good quality, but use very expensive and very proprietary components. Replacing them is generally not cost-effective. Bypassing them for aftermarket replacements is in some cases doable but somewhat complex.

You can build a very similar performing unit with MUCH more easily replaceable components for a LOT less money.

The dealer should have told you, if they were honest, that a 7 year old battery, and especially one that has been neglected for years, is not even worth bothering to look at.
