Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Not what you could call a "car guy", but I follow what is a (very common) practice up here in the snow belt. Summers are on (the stock) 18" alloy wheels; winters are on 16" steel wheels w/a second set of pressure sensors installed. Dealer swaps 'em for us Fall and Spring, and takes care of storage.

No salt in California. I think 15 states use salt. Now there is brine and some kind of beet juice. We had potash, or some gritty stuff, on our roads. Ice would get thick and the plows couldn't remove it. We also had steep grades, 15% in places on the main road and 16% on the road up to our house.

That's the road I was descending on my bike when the rim got hot and a glueless patch came off.

A 10 dollar Tuscan Sangio - yes please sign me right up. Non DOCG either, I wonder if there is some funky/funny winemaking involved

I don't understand people who spend a bunch of money on their house and then move.
