ISO “early model” disc brake CX frame or frameset
I realize that this is not C & V, but wanted to give it a try.
Looking for a 2009-2013 disc brake CX frame or frameset ~ 54cm seat tube for a winter project. I have a Ridley from that period, although DuraAce equipped, it’s canti brakes. I’ve collected a bunch of Shimano 105 (5600/5700) parts including a CX wheelset that I would like to put to use. This kind of a crazy idea since I don’t CX.
For trade I have a large (62cm?) 84 Waterford Paramount frameset with new white powder coat & decals. May also have some components, it’s likely they are rough. Also have a 91 PDG Series 3 Paramount sans wheels, 57cm ctc TT. A franken build with rider quality components. Lots of paint touch up to the paint, but straight. Rides nice, but the high BB didn’t work with my short legs. Then, there’s always the green stuff.
Would prefer something located in the Portland metro area to save shipping cost.

Hola Dr. Cannondale,
I have the new BB (see pic) and I'm not sure how to install it correctly sonce the mobil mech removed it for me. He shuld know how to replace it, but I want to get your input on this. On the UN 300 BB is printed "L ....D-H......R" . Is the new BB inserted into the shell from the R-side (chainring side) and then tightened from the left side?

You should invest in a repair manual. If English threads, the fixed cup goes on the right (drive side) & is left hand treaded. The removable cup goes on the left & has right hand threads. French & Italian cups are right hand threaded on both sides.

So, yeah, your mechanic will have his own methods I’m sure, but here’s what I do: Grease the threads on both sides, then insert the drive side and partially thread it in (yep, counter clockwise on yer Schwinn). Then insert the non drive side cup and partially thread it in (yep, clockwise on the NDS side on yer Schwinn). Then fully tighten it down on the drive side, and finally fully tighten on the NDS.

I have an Italian thread carbon Campagnolo Record bottom bracket that I'd like to trade for one with English threading. The bearings feel like they're beginning to get a little dry, maybe a 7/10.

Thank you Senior Ryder 00 for that suggestion! I went digging around in my garage and found an excellent Bicycle Repair Manual: Bicycling Magazine's Complete Guide To Bicycle Maintenance and Repair! I appreciate everyone's help on the Forum, but I promise to read my manual first BEFORE I start hounding everyone, especially Dr. Cannondale, with questions about how to upgrade, modify or repair my Schwinn.

I need a 34-tooth 110 chainring, ideally a Sugino standard or some such--no ramps or pins. NOS or very little wear preferred, since the big ring is new. For trade goods I have a fair number of Suntour deraillers (front and rear) and shifters. Some others, too, including a few by Huret, Simplex, etc. Also a set of clamp-on Simplex retrofrictions in good condition, but with some chrome loss on the clamp.

ISO Aero brake Lever Hoods and Crank arm dust covers
I'm looking for a set of brake lever hoods and crank arm dust covers for, yep, you guest it, my Schwinn. In searching ebay, there are many different kind of brake lever hoods on offer. The aero hoods usually have a model # like: Shimano BL-1055 or something like that. Can anyone ID my hoods so I can search for the correct ones? Also, I'm in need of dust covers for my recently installed Shimano 600 FC-6207 crankset.

danarello , you might want to try cleaning those hoods with hot soapy water.
If new hoods aren't available, one idea is to replace the levers altogether with new Shimano R400s:

SurferRosa the hot soapy water worked pretty good for the left brake lever hood, but the right one still looks bad, mainly because the rubber material is very sticky. The material is degraded I guess.

Does anyone have one NOS Campagnolo rear shift cable, part #606 I can buy or trade? This cable has the <C> stamped on the end, and a length of 118 CM. I don't want the braided cable as used for the bar end shifters, or a later stainless steel version. Jim Merz

I'm dreaming of a 34-tooth Suntour Perfect cog
I'm in need of a 34-tooth cog for a Suntour Perfect freewheel. A Pro-Compe cog would also work, as would (I think) a Winner cog. Happy to take a complete freewheel that includes a 34, if you don't feel like taking it apart.
