FREE: French Fender Day!

Bonjour mon ami!

Many years ago I purchased a French frame, directly from France along with numerous parts to potentially go on it. These fenders were part of that lot.
As you can see, they are period correct for a 50s/60s build, have oodles of character (those two, red accent lines!) and come with a fairly unusual profile but they need some help. A good cleaning and polishing should bring these back to life. And maybe some deep tissue massage to coax some of the aluminum into perfect shape again.

The outer fender width is 53mm. So you could likely fit 700C x 38 mm tires. Maybe 650B x 38 mm tires. I'm not sure as I'll leave that research up to you.

If you would like these fenders, please PM me. They are yours for the cost of shipping. And before you fire off that PM, know that this box is 30" x 5" x 24" and I'm in Oregon. Boxes this big go FedEx so it could end up being fairly spendy for you midwest and east coast folks. But, hey... free fenders!

FENDERS HAVE BEEN CLAIMED

There is a trick you can do with aluminium mudguards, as the material will take a permanent set with just force.
They have two radii, a small one and a large one.
If you change one, the other changes, so by squeezing together or widening the sides you can make it fit bigger or smaller wheels.
It's pretty easy, I did 3 (tadpole) and I just used my hands and they look like the factory made them that size.

The proper term for a french fender is garde-boue.
