FS - 1971 Raleigh Professional Mark II frame & fork - SPF
For sale is a limited edition Raleigh Pro Mrk II (#70 out of 500?) frame and fork. Size 55cm ctc. No dents but plenty of patina. Please see photos.

Thank you, the bike is going to one of the well known member here in the forum. Hope he'll post the reviving process for this bike and get it back on the road soon.
I bought (rescued) this bike up from an artist in Venice CA last year on the way up to Eroica CA. With rotator cuffs injuries from last year and surgery scheduled next week, I can't wrench for while so it is best i goes to a good home.

I bought a 1978 Pro MK V in a similar state . I absolutely LOVE the ride of this bike . I paid about the same ($150 included HS and BB , both Campy) . I have ridden it a bunch and just can't find anything I don't like about it. I look forward to seeing it built up by the new owner . Here for a little encouragement ....

The Mk II and Mk III shared that color, the latter adding chrome on the rear triangle and transitioning to different, more Italian looking lugs. It was a bit confusing because Raleigh called this "Brown Mink" and the later Mk IV color "Blue Mink". I suspect the mink part referred to the process, though they had other, similar finishes like green sprayed as a translucent over a white or silver basecoat on other models. I have a Mk III and I used the eyelets to set it up with Esge fenders and a rack. I found the geometry to be a little different than the Mk IV Pros and more along the lines of the International, though without quite the generous clearances. Many folks, myself included, say that the workmanship on the Mk II and Mk III was the best Worksop ever put out in the 1970s, and these lack the excessive fork rake found on most of the Mk IVs. This makes them the most desirable Carleton frames..
