A few questions -
how long is the top tube?
what is the crank?
any idea if the brakes you have can accommodate a 700 wheel?

Hey, I’m away from home until tomorrow when I can measure and get an answer on the cranks. As far as brakes, I’m not sure if they’ll reach 700’s.

The DC 981's that came on the 84-86 model reach 700 no problem. Looks like they switched to a 983 in 1987. Not familiar with that brake but if anything like the 981 model then it will reach 700c on this bike no problem.

OK it looks like the frame might be an '88, if I'm deciphering the serial number correctly.
The top tube is 20.5"
The brakes are Dia Compe 983's
Cranks are FC-B124 Shimano Touring Triple.

Yeah 87s were red. 88-89 was the emerald color shown above.
