Garmin Cadence Sensor Rubber Rubbing Bootie
There is just no way to write the title without it sounding a bit off.
Since the weather in the Seattle hinterlands is getting cool - 40s and raining, it was time to don the neoprene booties. The rubber retaining strap, no matter where I move it on the crank rubs against the bootie (keep it clean) creating a wear spot. Was thinking instead of using the rubber strap, perhaps use something lower profile like the black twist-ties which come with electronic accessories. Not an elegant solution so am putting out to the brain trust on suggestions. Gracias

The Wahoo can be mounted directly to the crank arm with double sided tape. Maybe that would work for the Garmin? Tape comes in a range of hold strengths.

I've used Gorilla double-sided tape before and it held well.

I use a bit of the 3m tape. I didn't trust it to stay and based off a video I saw I put about an inch of mountain bike tube over the top. Holds it securely.

You might try some 3M Dual Lock for the ease of removal and re-installation. Probably the low-pro SJ4580 is the way to go for maximum chainstay clearance.

My only concern about double sided tape is when it comes time to replace the battery which means scraping the tape off the door. Not a problem?

I have just used electrical tape. The tape doesn't look any worse than the rubber strap.

Sounds like a good excuse to get a Stages or some other type of power meter with built-in cadence.
