NYTimes has fun with Strava, TdF climbs.

NY Times compares climbing time of TdF pros vs. thousands of amateeurs uploaded to Strava on Tourmalet, Puy de Dome, Platzerwazel

Unfortunately, it's behind their paywall.

That was outstanding. It makes no sense from the screen grab but the animation is hilarious.

I would love to see the same results with the enthusiast climbers against the laughing bunch. They'd still get smoked.

Yeah, the screengrab doesn't really do it justice. People have to go look for themselves.

That was really awesome - thanks for sharing. It’s amazing to watch the pros on these climbs, but the comparison versus the amateurs and enthusiasts is just comical (in a good way)!

It is also interesting to replay the Tourmalet animation knowing that Demi Vollering did the climb in 53:48 during the TdFFaZ.

Weird. The world's most naturally gifted athletes, coached and trained by the very best coaches, nutritionists, and doctors, competing against their peers from an early age at the very highest levels of the sport are faster than random cyclists? Who saw that coming?

You've missed the point. Nobody here learned anything from the visualizations that they didn't already know.

I found the visualization entertaining. That's all.

Let's be honest, that last one didn't merit an acknowledgement let alone a reply.
