Lance and George - Wout van Aert is the best in the Peloton
Wout's performance in 2022 TDF was unbelievable. And this year, on "The Move" podcast both Lance and George have called Wout - the best cyclist in the 2023 TDF. Thoughts?

I think there’s a case to be made, but it depends on how you weigh different aspects of the sport.

Can he win sprint, breakaway, hilly, mountain and TT stages - yep.
Can he ever win GC - nope.
But few riders - if any - can be a threat in every type of stage, and he is one of the few.
Pogs has to be in that conversation as well, minus the pure sprints. Which he may be able to pull on off in the right conditions.

In the netflix show about last year's race, he said that he was too heavy to be a GC contender and wasn't interested in the effects on his riding of doing what was necessary to lose that weight (or something to that effect).

Considering his cyclocross' season, his places in different races, and even if he didn't win a lot in 2023, Wout is a beast. I hope he will win some great races like a flandrian monument and wear one day the rainbow jersey because he's a very spectacular rider. He was unlucky at Paris Roubaix and perhaps sometime affraid by Mathieu Van der Poel...
