Tacks for the 2nd day in a row, this time at 20km from the finish. I'm surprised the Basque didn't beat the person senseless for doing it yesterday. I hope this never happens on a downhill mountain stage as this could cause some serious injuries.

It was interesting to listen to Nico Roche talk about the car racetrack they were riding on and the problems it caused. It didn’t sound like it was all the fault of the riders, although that last crash close to the finish was ridiculous!

Stage 5 delusional prediction. Powless goes in the break for KOM points. Maybe Costa and Madouas are there. He gets pipped at the summit for a few points, but the break survives and Powless takes the stage.

Stage 4 was crazy boring then absurdly disastrous those final kilometers. What happened to Haig did he purposely loose two minutes from doing a lead out, did he crash or has he decided for stage wins instead?

Extraordinary stage. It's a very atypical start to the whole race this year. Still TBD how it plays out for the long haul but I, for one, am not worried about earlier-than-par GC time gaps creating a snooze-fest and I'm happy to see the script get torn up now and then. The riders still make the race, or not as Stage 4 showed, and there's a lot to gun for.
It looks like Coquard is making a run for green.
The last of the laughing bunch trickled in today at +14.27% of the winner's time. IDK what the cut was, maybe 15%, but no one was OTL. I was a little worried about Jakobsen after the wire brushing he took yesterday. Tomorrow may be worse. Good luck to him.

TdF A few days will be free-broadcast on NBC -
My wife told me the TDF was on channel 4 (NBC). I assumed that it was some short blurb, and over already, but to my surprise the coverage was still going, showing the podium ceremonies. I was surprised. I wonder if today is a one-off, or if the coverage will continue. The ad called it a "US Bank/NBC Sports Special Report". I tried streaming the TDF on Peacock last year, but it was hopeless mess. Hopefully this Saturday's coverage is not the last of it.
I looked but could not find the stages to be broadcast free on NBC this year,
For the rest of the stages, you would have to subscribe.
Or, what "some people" do is to have VPN service - just whatever regular VPN - then select some European locale where TdF is broadcast for free, and then select a VPN from that country, and then tune in.
In these countries, they pay taxes to get certain coverage - so it is not exactly free, they just get it without having to pay since they already paid for a set of programming. Kind of like having paid for cable.
"Cyclingfans" lists live stream broadcasts - from a variety of locales.

Oh that's a heartbreak for Jorgensen! Bee sting and all! Dunno how else he would've played that except to have launched a little later, but it was pretty lucky woodsie didn't respond at first. If Matteo had waited he probably wouldn't have gotten away that easy.
Woodsie had one heck of a climb!! That was incredible, almost two minutes back once Matteo hit the climb right?
Pretty disappointed Simmons had to abandon, here's hoping he can recover and target something decent still this season!
